In the immediate vicinity of Quinta Maragota, located in the quiet eastern Algarve, there is much to do. Walking and cycling can be done directly from the quinta. Go on an adventure and enjoy fruit orchards, rolling flower fields, old farms and the Ria Formosa nature reserve with its salt production and lagoons. Visit colourful fishing villages such as Fuseta, Santa Luzia, Tavira and Olhão with their market halls, harbours and tiled houses. Eat your belly round in cosy restaurants serving delicious fresh fish and other local delicacies. Relax at various beaches in the area, both on the mainland and the islets off the coast. Taste delicious local olive oil in Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo and wander through Loulé, with its quaint streets, boutiques and an old castle.  You can also visit a farmers' market or flea market somewhere in the area every week.
