Holiday home Casa Antiga

This 2 or 3 person holiday home is located on the ground floor in the middle of Quinta Maragota. Originally, in this part of the quinta were the living quarters of the farmer's family, which is reflected in the authentic Portuguese tile floors, renovated wooden shutters and the ceiling ornament in the hallway. The name we have given to this holiday home, Casa Antiga (the old house), is derived from this history.

Private terrace 

Casa Antiga (45m2) is accessed via a front porch, shared with Casa Taberna (making these 2 apartments also very suitable to rent with 2 couples). Just before the porch is an intimate private terrace, divided over 3 levels with a lounge, dining and sitting area and both shade and sun. This terrace is adjacent to the communal garden and is shielded by many plants for extra atmosphere and privacy.

Inside layout 

Through the front porch you enter the kitchen, with ample storage space, various appliances, cooking and eating utensils. Adjacent to the kitchen is a spacious bathroom with toilet (via a small step), large washbasin, spacious walk-in shower and towel radiator. There is also a window for ventilation and mechanical extraction. Towels, beach towels and a hairdryer are provided.

From the kitchen you enter a hall, which still has the original antique Portuguese tile floor and ceiling ornament. At the end of the hall, in the niche of the original front door, a spacious closet has been created for clothes and suitcases. On either side of the hall are two almost identical rooms, which can be closed off with sliding doors, also with antique tiled floors and old shutters in front of the windows. One of these rooms is furnished as a bedroom, the other one as a living-dining room. In the living-dining room there is a dining table, an armchair and a comfortable sofa (90x200cm) with movable backrests and various cushions. The sofa can also be used as a bed because it has a good mattress and slatted frame. Therefore, this room can also be used as a bedroom by a 3rd person or when 2 people want to sleep in separate rooms. For both cooling and heating, air conditioners with cold/warmth exchanger are available in these 2 rooms.
